thermometer, temperature, measure

Temperature is a way of measuring how hot or cold something is. It tells us how much heat energy is in an object or substance.

Think about holding a cold can of soda and a warm cup of tea. The can of soda feels colder because it has less heat energy than the tea. Temperature is a way of measuring that difference in heat energy.

Temperature is usually measured using a thermometer, which can be made of things like mercury or digital sensors. The thermometer works by measuring how much a substance, like mercury or a metal wire, changes in size or electrical resistance when it gets hotter or colder.

So when we talk about temperature, we’re talking about how hot or cold something is compared to something else, and we measure it with a thermometer.
